I purchased Ubi Soft chess master for PC but opted to register at a later time. Now the registration prompt pops up everytime I boot up. So I regestered the software hoping that would get rid of the anoying popup but it did not. Can someone tell me how to get rid of it? Thanks in advance.

One method for getting past that is to uncheck the registration item when choosing the custom not express install option when putting any new software on. If the custom option is available you may have to reinstall the program and simply uncheck that to keep it from installing while you will still see a popup initially where you simply choose "never" when asked.

The alternatives are either disabling one part of the program in either the msconfig or locating the exact value in the system registry to remove there. Seeing it disabled in the startup list or reinstalling using a custom install and answering with the "never" choice on the popup would be quite a bit easier however.

If you see your program here, delete it
Start menu--> All programs --> Startup

If look for ubisoft in your "all programs",
Often, these programs have settings so you can turn of junk like registration.
Sometimes it will not be in the same folder.

Control Panel --> add or remove programs
search for something that sounds like ubisoft registration, it should be a small program

If false, check
Start--> run
type in "msconfig"
startup
LOOK for the program,
make sure it's the right thing before unchecking it
if you aren't sure post the likely suspects here

or uninstall it, go to addictinggames.com and play free chess online

Generally when you see the option for custom you can easily uncheck the install registration item. You will still see the initial popup appear when the installation completes. But the "remind me later or "never" option is selected followed by simply clicking on the cancel and removing the desktop shortcut.

The registry is a rather touchy area there since one main key will effect different things. Going into the add/remove startup in the Start menu's taskbar customize section for removing items sometimes reveals one for registration there as well.
