Hi everyone, longtime lurker and first time poster.I really enjoy watching these forums ,there is a lot of good information here that helps out a Newbie like me about Computers and hardware.
I will soon be trying to build a comp myself and will obviously ask for opinions from here when i decide to build a good gaming comp.

I have been looking back in archives as well as as new posts about the Antec 900 and it seems as though 90 % or more of the people here say it is the build for a serious gaming case.I have read how well it cools as well as models like the coolermaster 690,830,832 cases cool also (according to newegg testimonials).what worries me is some of the posts is that people say that although the cooling is excellant on the 900 the room for using 8800 gtx or ultra video cards is very tight.Wiring difficulty to has been stated.

If you were getting a case that you would want to keep over several builds over the years, many upgrades including gpu,is it wise to choose a case that is only marginally now big enough to fit parts when it seems as the hardware is getting bigger with time as well as with the performance?

I dont want to start a flame war or big argument but as as someone that is just a beginner in comps I am just curious how this would pan out for the future.

Thx for the replies,

Greg

ha ha.

I've managed to squeeze two Ultras in the 900, but it wasn't an easy fit. I think the 900 is great, but if you want a lot of interior room, you'd be better off with a full-tower.

Yeah ,hehe... I have seen some of these posts get pretty verbal..I guess some people feel like you steped on their toes considering the time and money they spent on their setups and have a lot of pride in what they have done...Which I think is great that you have a sense of accomplishment in that something you have built with your own two hands that can do the things these marvelous machines do.But not every comp build is going to be right for every person.

The real problem is fitting the cpu power cable around the graphics card, away from the top fan, and around the cpu cooler. I can't really imagine another gpu in mine, its pretty tight :x

? I just bought a cable extender and tied it up off top, its behind my gpu, though the cables going to the rear fan are draped milimeters above it. I was having trouble with the cpu fan, it was just too close a fit for me to want to attempt it without an extension :X

As I am one of the few who did not like the 900, I will stay out of this, since I obviously am one of the minority.

Many of the points you made about the 900 were facts - I had the same problems. The only difference was, I guess, that I didn't think those nuisances were dealbreakers. :)
