Hey all. To those who are using this casing, do you hear any single "tick" sound from it everytime after 3 seconds you pressed the power button? Today I pressed the power button, there was a double "ticking" sound. What is causing that?
I remember a previous hp desktop also used to be the same issue, most of the time the machine single tick but periodically double ticking after the power button was pressed.
What is the "tick" all about in the first place? It does not looks to be from any of the fans as there are 5 in my casing and the sound was heard from the front of the casing.
Gurus of antec 900, any explainations?

I do not have the Antec 900. I have the more sexier CM690.

On topic/ It could be your Cpu Fan makes the noise. to me it seems like the most logical explanation. It could only ahppen after u turn on the comp because the fan is starting up.

Blast the cpufan with a can of Compressed air and blow the sucker out.

I do not understand your last line. Do you mean that is a process or a step that can be taken?

ok, so i'm basically thinking that ur problem is when the CPU fan starts to turn. follow?

It might either be clogged up dust, or it might need changing altogether, but most likely it is dust.

Go to any electronics store and buy a can of COMPRESSED AIR. stick the nozzle onto fan, and blow out all the dust.

no ticking sound here. perhaps your fans are clogged with dust and needs a couple of kicks to jump start?

Hm, mine only makes sound when it turns off...
I'm assuming it has something to do with dust, after all it's an Antec 900 and I may assume he didn't do anything on the inside dust-wize. Try a can of compressed air on all fans (CPU fan(s) as well). And it it still makes noise... Take a look at the VGA card(s).

I dont have that problem (but i do have a problem with how tiny the case is! and yes i knew it was a midtower when i bought it.... $50, couldnt say no :P)

Try turning the machine on using the motherboard -- do you get that problem?

How do you do that? The motherboard does not have a on/off switch?
