Hey there :-)

I have gone over budget with my processor and graphics card and now need the cheapest of everything else.

Processor: AMD black edition quad core 3.5ghz
Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon 6870

So now i want the cheapest power supply to power this.

The Antec High Current Gamer is bronze, so im leaning towards it. Its really cheap because it's not even for sale on the antec site anymore. I dont know how old it is, but i can get it here, and i want someone to tell me if it will be missing something i need because its older?

The Vantec is just more watts and a less well known brand maybe, idk. Its not bronze. I might save money in power with the Antec.

I cant afford a corsair.

Thank you all! :-)

Antec make pretty good units, it should be fine but DON'T get it preowned.

You can save a fair bit of money by going with an AMD PhenomII 955 rather than a 970 by the way. They are the exact same chip, to get the 955 to 870 speeds, when you build your system, go into the BIOS and raise the multiplier to x17.5 instead of x16, it will be a 3.5GHz, the exact same as the 970, with 0 change to voltage needed.

You don't need a Corsair unit, they are good, but not all that, other brands make equally as good power supplies, generally an Antec or Silverstone will work out cheaper, but you still get high quality from them

Thanks :-) Yeah, im getting everything new. Yeah i didnt make smart choices with my cpu and graphics card and im paying for it now. This is my first build so thats going to happen though. I have already bought them. Im going for the antec high current gamer at this stage because its bronze, still looking for more feedback if anyone has some :-)
