Antec Truepower 430W for a PII 955 ?

I'm upgrading the comp and try to save as many components as I can, do you think my old Antec Truepower 430W will be enough for this?

It might be okay, but you'd really at least want a 500W, if not a 600W for good measure depending on what else you are hooking up/putting into the computer. You gotta remember as well, depending on how old the PSU is, it's not really going to be at the 430W rating anymore. Plus, PSU are pretty cheap comparatively and you really don't want to risk/skimp on such a fundamental part.

Here are some good options:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004 - $90 (550W)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 - $100 (650W)

Both of these also have a single +12V rail which is nice so that you don't have to worry about balancing the voltages on the rails like many power supplies out there. Plus, if you get the 650W now, you'll be set for quite a bit longer time. Or for another $10 beyond the 650W, there's a 750W available as well.

There's only one USB powered device I eventually plug in.
Inside the box : 3 go of PC 5300 ram, an old 7600gt graphic card, didn't decide on the mobo yet but it'll something similar to the GA-M720-US3, so nothing really heavy apart from the CPU.

My PSU is about 3 years old so does it sound safe to you or should I really consider upgrading to 550W?

Antec TP 430W will pretty easily run a 7600gt with that system. As long as you dont run anything higher than a 4670 ati or 9600gt nvidia GPU you wont need to worry about psu, the system you described should be fine;) Might be able to run a little higher of a GPU such as an 8800gt or 4830 but i personally would run those(on an antec at least, if it was a better singlerail unit like a corsair i would think about it).

Nice! Thanks guys :)

What's about these single +12V rails and the "balancing voltages" thing DCIScouts's talking about ?

For what you have, it should be fine. If you ever upgrade your card, I would get a stronger PSU.
Actually I forgot to mention the PCI sound card (E-mu 1212m) but I just found a PSU calculator and all included it says my system barely needs 300W.

Single +12V rails give steady, even power, increasing life of some components. Single +12V rails are found in high quality PSUs like PC P&C.

No, single +12v rails just gives you a single rail, on multi rail units you have to balance what goes on each rail according to power draw(eg- you dont want all your stuff on a single rail on a multi rail PSU). However, on that antec as well as most other power supplies, +12v1 is dedicated to the CPU/Mobo.

P.S. The unit i run, zalman ZM1000-HP has lower ripple than any pcp&c or corsair unit, its one of the best units made IMO.

Thanks for the clarification.
