Anti-Malware & Anti-Virus

Is it necessary to have both "Anti-Malware" & Anti-Virus programs?
e.g., Malwarebyte along with AVG Anti-Virus?

Yes, it is. Malwarebytes is only an on demand scanner if you get the free version. AVG, if it notices a bad website, will block you from going there.

what your saying is to get the "PAID" verison of "Malwarebyte" in association with AVG "Anti-Virus", correct?

If you really want to have control over what enters your system, then yes. For the uneducated user, the paid versions are always better then the free versions. I, on the other hand will never use a paid security program. All it takes is a little understanding on what infects you. You have to know where to go and where not to go on the web, you have to watch what email you receive and don't open anything from someone you don't know and other things.

I have no problem with that, I have used the free version of AVG, on desktops I have rebuilt, I have downloaded the free version of Malwarebyts on my laptop to have a look at it. I am trying to get away from Norton that my loving wife insists we use. I am currently building a desktop that I will go the free route with.
Thanks for your input.
