PC infected with Antivirus8. I have no desktop icons, only wallpaper. I have tried f8, start windows with networking. After login i get the A8 popup. after a countdown that seems to get longer each time I try this, I have been told to continue on the A8 popup, then just keep x out the windows. This only gets me a blue screen with "top: c00011f4 unknown hard error" at the top left of the screen. Then PC is frozen. Power off and on and on. Also, when I am f8 to start in safe mode the computer rings 2 times like a phone. WEIRD!!

I can not get anywhere to to even try anything as I get the blue screen as the icons are starting to load in safe mode.

HELP!!
 
Boot to safe mode with networking. When you get to the screen with the av8 popup press Ctrl-alt-del to bring up the task manager, click on the process tab and find the process labeled av8.exe, highlight it and click on end task. Hopefully the screen will disappear. Then your desktop should load hopefully. Then perform the following procedure.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware


Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log
 
Thank you for your reply but nothing works. After login, still get the A8 screen with 2 options.
1- Genuine
2- there is a countdown time(grayed out) that starts at around 69 secs. and get longer each time I try something. Both options get me the same thing.

I get ask if I want to continue in safe and I have the A8 window under that. Then blue screen. ctrl alt delete does nothing. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
 
At this point I would recommend taking the hard drive out of this system and add it to another system and use a fully updated antivirus program and malwarebytes to scan the drive.
 
Possible yes, probable no. Just make sure the new system already has malwarebytes and a fully updated antivirus program installed.
