antivirus and firewall for ubuntu 10 04 lts

Yes, ClamAV, and Gufw is the easiest firewall to use. The ones I used to use anyway
There is also Avast and BitDefender AVs as well

Thanks, I found the firewall but having difficulty with the ClamAv. I know its in there but as this is only my second day with linux it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
 
you will need to add and update repositories -

open terminal type this :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-clamav/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install clamav clamtk

honestly you don't really necessarily need an antivirus but with linux getting more and more popular it's not a bad idea

like TeKmaster said you do not really need a antivirus for Ubuntu because windows machines are more likely to be targeted in attacks but it is still good to have one to be on the safe side
