Antivirus program?

I was on the Forum recently and got some great help cleaning up my pc = nasty viruses etc. I got rid of my huge security program.....Shaw Secure (F-Secure) and downloaded Avast and Malware at the suggestion of people that helped me here.

QUESTIONS:
Is it a good idea to purchase Avast - is it well worth it? I only have the Trial version installed now and I keep getting prompted to up-date.

Is it a good idea to buy Malware as well?

I'm only asking because I want to know if these are programs worth buying compared to everything else there is out there. I don't mind buying something that is going to help my pc health - it's money well spent. However, I'm not up-to-date with all this and I ask for your good assistance before I start shopping.

Most likely you just need to register Avast to get a free years subscription to its definition updates. Open Avast and you should see it on the main page. If you feel like buying the paid version of malwarebytes, I would highly recommend it, especially if you are unsure of your browsing habits.
