Any advice for good web hosting service

Hi guys! New member here, and not much of a tech whizz I must admit, so I'd really appreciate your advice. I've recently started a business with a friend of mine. It's going fairly well but we'd really like to improve our online presence. So far we've set up accounts on all the popular social media sites, but we'd also like to have a proper website that our customers can refer to. Any suggestions on which hosting service to use? Thanks.
 
I haven't heard of Hostgator. What makes them so good? Does anyone have any other recommendations for new business (and not hugely tech savvy) people? I'd like to get a few more ideas from people to kind of steer my research.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
Has anyone heard of 1and1 (http://website.1and1.com/free-website-builder)?It has come up in my research and through word of mouth. I see it does domains, hosting and help with web site building. Does anyone have experience with it? I'd really like to hear what people think and also see what else it out there. I'm still not decided yet so as much info as possible would be fantastic.

I have heard of it. I have heard pretty good things about it as well. If you are going to look for a service like that I would recommend just going with godaddy.com they do pretty much the same thing as 1and1 but they are a bit more of a well known company.
