Any descent brands for HDMI cable?

Hi, guys,

My desktop is connected to a pioneer amplifier which is also connected to my TV. Any descent HDMI cable to recommend? The signal goes on and off. Well, can't afford one like Monster, any mid range or low mid brands that you know of? Hit me back, thanks a lot.
 
Buying a cable based on brand is a fallacy anyway. What you want to look for is HDMI spec (1.3, 1.4a etc) and build quality. For short runs every cable is effectively the same. "Gold-plated, oxygen free" crap is just marketing.

If you pay more than $10 it is a rip off.

But seriously. There will be no difference in picture quality as long as you get the right spec like Linkin said. HDMI uses a digital signal, so no cable will improve the rate 1s and 0s get to your screen.

I got a good deal on a monster cable for $20 on amazon. The thing is built like a tank so I won't have to replace it in the near future.

Oh, another question just came up, how would I know if I need HDMI 1.3 or 1.4? Any ideas? It might seem a silly question to you guys, but I can't find anything like that in the amplifier user handbook. Thanks.
