Itd help to know what youve played recently.
Just throwing around names, Id recommend TF2, Bad Company 2, MW 2 (i didnt like it that much but most people did), Mass Effect (I havent played 2 yet but I hear its better than 1 and 1 is great. also this isnt really fps).

If you haven't played Starcraft yet, now is the time to go pick up the Battle Chest, as Starcraft 2 is coming out here is fairly short order... Sins of a Solar Empire is a space-based RTS, little different, but still a ton a fun and it has 2 expansions out now that drastically change how the gameplay runs.
