Any Hotmail users here?

What the hell happened to Hotmail? They changed it to Outlook, and as far as I'm concerned, they've ruined it. I have emails stored with links in them that I use frequently, but those can no longer be used. Hotmail used to divide my emails up into pages that could be deleted by page. Now all of the emails are on one page and there are no options to do anything with them. I want my Hotmail back. I'm either going to have to find a way to switch back to Hotmail, or I need to figure out how to transfer all of me emails into a different email account because this Outlook doesn't cut it! Someone please help!

I use Hotmail (now Outlook) as my main email and it does everything I need it to do. I don't use the web interface much, mostly I use WLM to access my email. Not sure what interface you're using but the web interface on Outlook.com still displays a page of messages at a time. I have lots of emails with links in them but in order for you to have live links you need to go into Options and set the email as Rich Text. If you set it to Plain text the link will still be there but it won't be live. I'm pretty sure it was the same with Hotmail.

I also have a gmail account but rarely use it because I really don't care for it. Not sure what it is that people like about it. I find gmail difficult to keep organized.

They transferred over about 2 years ago (maybe more). I've used Gmail Since day 1 and haven't had an issue. Your inbox is also separated into three or more tabs that you can filter to your own desire. :)

Yep not much you can do about that, the change is permanent.

Gmail is far more easier to use, been using it since you had to get an invite to have it actually.

My Outlook email page has no "options" option. It also displays all of my emails on one page. It doesn't separate them into multiple pages, which it should. When it was still Hotmail, I had like 10 or 12 pages. I also have no options to reply, forward, or delete any emails. It sounds like my email is missing all of the stuff you have. At the top of the page it says "Outlook Mail (Preview)"...does "preview mean that my email account needs to be set up or something? I don't know why your Outlook account gives you all of the options I don't have...

I had a Hotmail account until like 2 weeks ago. Mine just switched over...

I have a Gmail account and would gladly use it, but I have no way of forwarding my emails from Outlook account to my Gmail account...I have no "forward" option...

Okay, I found "options", but there are like 50 options...which one is "Rich Text" under? Also, I still have not been able to find the "reply", "forward", "delete", or even the "log out" options...any idea where they might be?

hotmail was trash.... sign up a gmail acct

I never had any complaints with Hotmail until now. I have a Gmail account, and I would gladly use it, but I have to transfer all of my emails from Outlook to Gmail...so far, I haven't been able to locate the "Forward" function in Outlook...

Apparently there is a new version of "Outlook.com" called "Outlook.com Preview" that's being rolled out to certain users. My guess is that you were using "Outlook.com" previously and just got switched to the Preview version. I had not heard of "Outlook.com Preview" until now but here's a link about it: http://venturebeat.com/2015/08/12/o...-ins-including-from-uber-paypal-and-evernote/

Link to "Outlook.com Preview Product Guide" from MS: https://news.microsoft.com/download/presskits/outlook-com/docs/outlookcomrg.pdf

I read through both of these links, but they were no help...Many of the steps they list I can't do because the stuff just isn't there in my account...and it doesn't address at all the things I need to do....I need to forward ALL of my current emails from my Outlook box to my Gmail box, but I have not been able to find an option that allows me to do this. The only thing I've been able to find here was forwarding all NEW emails, it doesn't have an option to forward my current ones, and doing them individually isn't an option as it would take forever. I also need to make the links in my emails active, I have also not been able to find the "Rich Text" option that allows me to do this. I need to be able to delete full pages of emails at a time, and I haven't been able find an option that allows this...I don't understand why my account doesn't have all of the options that are supposedly supposed to be there...

Of course we do but apparently your account is crippled for whatever reason. You probably will need to contact MS support to get it straightened out since you say the Options and functions that are shown in the links I posted above are missing.

Can you post screen shots of what you see in your account?

I can try. How would I accomplish that? And do you have any contact info for MS support? Thanks.

Alt and prt scn buttons and then paste into ms paint save picture and upload it to your post.

After spending approx. 10 hours online with Microsoft support, they were unable to do anything to my account. They could not figure out how to get my account to separate my emails into multiple pages, they couldn't figure out how I can delete multiple emails without having to delete each one individually, and they said there was no way to make the links I have my emails active. Outlook also doesn't allow any exporting. I decided that Outlook isn't going to work for me and I'm just having all of my incoming emails to Outlook forwarded to my gmail account. I still don't understand why everyone who was using Hotmail was forced over to Outlook. Outlook sucks and is proof that progress isn't always a good thing...

While it lost some features, Outlook is a much more simple and straightforward approach to email that is very minimilistic. Some like it, some don't. Personally, I find Outlook to be much better than Hotmail used to be.
