So at a New Year's Eve party, some idiot comes stumbling up to me asking me to fix his computer. Taking it home, he had multiple downloader trojans and a fake antivir trojan on his computer. It was the most poorly maintained computer I've seen in my life in terms of software. I ran a boot of WinXP on it and got it back in order in about an hour or two, calling the guy, I decided I liked this computer better than mine and wanted to see if he would pay for a different computer rather than a repair price on his. He's buying my Dell Dimension for $100 (ripoff I guess, but hell, my life ain't easy so I'm taking it without guilt)

This is the computer I got out of it (Which really is better than a Dimension 2350 but not by much)

Any thoughts on some decent-good upgrades worth putting in while I'm still buying the parts for my expensive build?

I think I'll just probably upgrade the memory to 2GB and call it good. 2x1GB sticks should be fine. I don't think there's a lot else worth upgrading. Any input appreciated.

Looks like you've got just about the same computer that you sold.

Neither are worth putting a penny into, in my opinion, especially if
there's a new build on the way.

Alright. I'll take your word for it. I'm sitting at 1GB now, so I'll stay put until my new build is ready. You are right though, they are just about the same PC but this one has better BIOS options by far. I might try running Win7 on it now that I have the option to select PCI only for the video card. The Dimension only had an Auto-configure option. Thanks Bodaggit!
