Any Problems in Swapping Out A New HD in a 64bit Laptop With My Old 32bit HD?

Hello,

My old laptop (HP DV6707us) recently stopped working. The motherboard died and so I want to put the old harddrive (32bit OS) into a new laptop (ASUS UL80At) that I've purchased. I have a couple questions though.

Would it be a problem putting a 32bit OS into the 64bit computer?

I noticed that the new laptop has many programs installed onto it that are necessary for it to run ideally but also comes with a lot of bloatware so I'd like to just use my old harddrive. Would all the drivers on the website (http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=oJ2UcCTkGd6GG7Rs) cover everything needed?

While I would be okay with using the 320 gb HD included with the laptop, my old one is much larger, (600 gb) and I would be able to pick up from where I left off, in a sense.

Would this be a wise decision or would you recommend for me to just leave it as it is and move over my files, re-download the programs, and uninstall unnecessary programs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to your responses!

You won't be able to use the old hard drive in the way that you want to. If you put a old hard drive into a different system that it was installed on, then most likely it won't boot because all the hardware is different now. You will have to do a fresh install of windows and reinstall all programs if you want to use the old hard drive as an OS boot drive.
