I am going to be entering college here soon and i was wondering if there was any suggestions of what i should get? I like to play some action packed games on the computer every now and then, I listen to music/ watch trailers on the desktop comp i have now all the time, and i want a computer that is going to last me a long time without much hassle. I also want a computer that wont be slow, so a faster processer would be nice. So if there are any suggestions on what type and or what kind of laptop i should get please post your comments for me. I am looking at the price range of no more than 1500. :) Thanks for your time. :)

honestly... i'd suggest a desktop if you really want a good computer that will last... and laptops aren't that good of an idea, i bought one to take to class for notetaking, but it's never seen the inside of a classroom...

Thanks for the suggestions...

Hey ill check out the ones you guys have told me about and ill see what they have to offer. If there are any more suggestions out there please let me know about them. Thanks again for your time.

Even though i hate dell, the ones i use at school are really good laptops.
No heating up, 15.4" screen, pretty light and the best thing, dual-core CPU's

Get a dell laptop, dont touch their desktop

Havent you guys heard of Dell notebook battery's causing houses to burn down? In fact the airport didnt allow Dell notebooks for awhile b/c their batteries would have problems with catching on fire. As for Alienware their notebooks break down real fast. Ive heard a lot of complaints from Alienware notebooks always having problems. Its funny how Alienware & Dell became a joint venture, two of worst notebook manufacturers.

well unfortunately i doubt that dell makes their own batterys so it would seem that they probably bought a bad batch of battery's from their main supplier. Not necessairly their fault but it makes them look bad, quit letting the media control your every thought. Stop to think about who might really have caused the problem.

What about compaq?

Has anyone ever dealt with a compaq comp.? Or has anyone owned a compaq laptop? I dont hear much on them and i was wondering if i should stay away from them or not. Ive been looking at Hp, alienware, and Dell computers and then i came across compaq laptops and i didnt know anything about them. So any word out there on Compaq????

i've always hated them because i had one that went bad once, but that doesn't mean they havn't improved that was a long time ago before they merged with HP so their products may be a lot better now. who knows...
