Any way to stop an uninstall?

here is my problem, me being me uninstalled the driver for my hard drive Maxtor 6Y120L0, and i have not restarted yet. What is going to happen when i restart and how do i fix it, also is there any way to stop the uninstall now before i shut down? Hope someone can help cuase my buddy is on a cruise, and he is my fix it man,lol.

What did these drivers do? You don't need drivers to run a hard drive, only for any extra applications that may have come with it. Is this your system drive or another?

Chances are that when Windows restarts it might install a generic IDE driver when detecting hardware.
