Any XP user - please help - I need to navigate without a mouse

My wife's graphic card is acting up and I cannot see the screen except a completely unrecognizable flickering mess.

Goal:
I want to change the monitor refresh rate to 60 Hertz.

Challenge:
I have to do it with my eyes closed and only using the keyboard to navigate.

Your help:
I can't remember by heart all the shortcuts to do it.

This is how far I get:
On desktop right-click
Arrow up 1x (should select properties so I assume I'm in the display properties window)

Now I need to get over to the settings tab. Help???

Then I'll press ALT+V to enter into the advanced button

Then I need to get to the Monitor tab. Help???

Then I have to change the refresh rate to 60 Hz. Help???

Then I probably have to confirm that I want to keep the changes or else it will go back to where it was. Is the default highlighted button the "yes" or the "no" button?

Thanks for your help!!!

I just tested it:

1. Right-click on desktop
2. Press "R" (shortcut to Properties)
3. Press TAB 4 times (to get to tabs)
4. Press RIGHT ARROW 4 times (Settings tab)
5. ALT + V
6. Press TAB 5 times (to get to tabs)
7. Press RIGHT ARROW 2 times (Monitor tab)
8. Press TAB 2 times (refresh rate is selected)
9. Press UP ARROW 3 times (to get to 60 Hertz)
10. Press ENTER 1 time (OK button is default)

At this point, wait a moment while the screen changes its settings. Then a confirmation box will pop up but the default here is "No", so:

11. Press TAB 1 time (to move to "Yes")
12. Press ENTER 2 times (to accept all changes)

Hope that helps!

THANK YOU!!! It worked. The only thing I changed was step 5. Since my wife's computer is in German, then I needed ALT+E, but there was no way for you to know that, of course. Thanks again for your big help.

I'm not sure if her monitor or her graphic card is about to die, but bottom line, it only works on 60 Hz (and even at that it flickers like crazy when in desktop view, but it's fine as soon as you open a program).

Anyway, thanks again. And thanks Bodaggit23 for that link. I love shortcuts and that is a great site to bookmark!

No problem! I actually didn't know about the ALT+V shortcut until you mentioned it in your original post. Otherwise I would have done more TAB/ARROW steps! :)

Glad it worked though. I temporarily switched mine to 60 to test it and it was definitely noticeable. It doesn't get better at other rates?

Edit: Heh, I just noticed that the only reason I said to press UP 3 times to get to 60hz was because mine is set on 85hz. So it could be that pressing UP 3 times for you didn't actually move it to 60. You may want to have a look at that (unless 85 is just the default anyway).
