How are you going to uninstall an OS whilst you are using it to uninstall itself:confused::confused:

Did I get that right :confused:

Boot to the XP CD and delete the original partition. Make a new one and format it.

Problem solved.

no the virus wont let me boot from my windows CD disc. But where do I get a boot dos disk from, what JDbennet was talking about? I looked on Internet but they so many different ones. I dont know which one I am suppose to use. I have XP home edition windows.

You need to get a windows xp disc put it in then when the computer boots make sure it boots off the xp disc and then follow the instructions.

But we could help you get rid of the virus.......

A virus on the computer won't have any effect on booting off a CD, you probably need to go to BIOS and make sure that your CD/DVD drive has a boot priority higher tan your HDD.

You are all wrong, it IS possible to uninstall windows xp, but ONLY when it is installed as an upgrade from older versions. I had win98 on another PC and upgraded to win XP, and in the add/remove programs window appeared "Windows XP".

If it's a clean install, that is not possible, just erase the entire partition.

but even if you did downgrade from an upgrade of an older version, the virus would no doubt be hiding in a system 32 file somewhere and still give problems ;)
