anybody know the socket of AMD's 4X4's and future cpu's?

OK, so I know right know the intel has the lead in dual core, over the X2's

but I think that AMD will come out with something that will be better than conroe, seeing how its a never-ending battle

so my question is
will future AMD processors be AM2? making it safe to build a AM2 system to upgrade to a better CPU down the road?

From the way I understand the AM2+ and AM3 processors will run on a AM2 board, But your at the mercy of the board maker if they have a bios update for them
