Anybody play Americas Army?

Just got into playing this game and its pretty cool. I like it because the action is a little more strategy based rather than just run around and shoot fast like CoD can be at times. Graphics are decent and the audio is about the same. Just curious who else if anyone played it.

Have you played insurgency? Its a free source mod available on steam, and though I've never played ArmA, I would imagine that they are pretty similar. Insurgency is really realistic for being a free mod, and it has great source graphics.

I'd reccomend at least checking iit out if you like ArmA

Insurgency's ok~ish. The insurgent's guns are way to overpowered.

ArmA is Armed Assault, not America's Army.

Anyways,

I play America's Army. Add me on the friends list if you guys want. It's [SF]kEnnY_m.

I added you intel, maybe you can help me out because im a little confused.

Do i need to do ALL of the training missions before I play multiplayer? I did all of my basic training and my advanced rifleman training already.

Most servers require a minimum of 10 so you're fine.

You need basic training to play on some of the maps and you need airborne for a few others and SF if you want to play the SF classes.

Medic training's stupid. Unless you really want to listen to the guy BS through 4 trainings and take 4 multiple choice tests, then just find answers on the web because all you do in game is press F to heal.

btw, I'm honor 52. :D

So when I join online games will i get 'missions' added to my account? or is that something different. I have not actually played any multiplayer games yet so i guess im a little confused about whether or not its like deathmatch or is there a teamwork sort of thing you have to do?

um... depending on maps
but some of them are just purely deathmath because at maps like Bridge, you have to cross it to the extraction point to win so you have to plow your way through.

But maps like Pipeline, it's more objective based.

AA v.3 is coming out in 2009. It's totally made from scratch and uses the new UT3 engine. It sounds promising too.

I used to play it (on a mac :( ) back in the days of 2.5.
When i got my computer, i tried 2.7 ( I believe) and didnt like it much. I thought i heard rumors from an old clan member that version 3 was coming out soon. I might have to check it out again .

A game that's similar to these is Combat Arms, I like that one because it's more fast paced, arcade-ish. I'll take a look at AA though, seems like a lot of people enjoy it.

Don't think about it.... Combat Arms is pathetic compared to AA. It's not even in the same league. In Combat Arms, you can't scope in the regular ironsights so you have to rely on the cross hair and the aiming is programmed so that everyone has like Aimbot. I swear.
