If you did and your LCD arrived with defects, what did you do? Say you bought a brand new Samsung LCD with 3 years warranty from this random seller. The LCD arrived with lots of dead pixels and the sellers won't take return/exchange. Could you contact Samsung directly and get an exchange from them instead because you have 3 years warranty? I'm just a little confused about this that's all.

If the monitor still has a 3 year warranty and you can show proof of purchase, then I would go directly to the manufacturer (Samsung). Dead pixels are an iffy situation, some companies won't exchange or refund the LCD unless it has 8+ dead pixels, while others may do it for just a few.

yeah ive heard that-ive just bought one from the shop!!

had my fingers crossed that it didnt have any and it didnt, my last one did and it was blue-right in middle of screen :(

if its blue then its not usually dead and you should be able to fix it seeing as its usually just stuck.

couldnt mate, tried everything-had it for over a year!!! not bothered now cos me new one hasnt...

can you give us your idea of how to "un-stick" a dead pixel? might be helpfull

there was a thread about this a while ago... ill try and find it. but dead pixels are unrepairable... but if they are a colour such as red green blue then they are just stuck and usually can be fixed by applying pressure to the screen and lots of other ways.

fixing dead pixels? play a computer game or something that constantly changes the colors displayed on the screen. also the pressure thing works too.

not dead pixels. stuck pixels. if they are a colour then they are stuck. if they are black or whatever then they are dead and cant be fixed.

You can't fix dead pixels, you can usually fit stuck pixels though.
