i'm in high school and we have this thing called x stop in our school computers that prevent us from going to certain websites, i don't know if they have that in other places or not. anyways, we used things like kproxy and stealth-ip to bypass it, but recently those sites havent been working properly, or the school did something to it or something. we use ie btw, and going to tools/options won't work because we need an administrator to do it for us.
i heard that by getting firefox, we can bypass the xstop thing because you can go to options because the school computers don't block ff internet options. my question is how do you do it? do i delete my cookies or something? i'm not to familier with firefox.
thanks

Just about all public school's have some kind of firewall/filter set up. I can't remember what we use, Bess maybe.

As far as bypassing your school's filter, we're not allowed to discuss it here. It follows too closely on the coat tails of hacking and criminal activity, etc.

Correct, finding ways around school security is dangerously close to Rule #2. If you feel a website you want to visit is legit, just speak to someone about getting it put on the safe list on their firewall.

I would think sites would be blocked in firefox also...

But if you want to try it, get the portable version of firefox and put it on a flash drive.

Lets just end this discussion there, thank you very much. I don't really want to have to organize closing this thread, but I have made clear this discussion is unacceptable. Omega, you should know better. Don't make me give you an official warning.

This topic of discussion is over.

k, sorry for bringing it up. didn't know it was illegal. just wanted to go on sites like gamefaqs and stuff. anyways, sorry my making this topic. i gues you can delete it or something.

Getting around those stupid proxies is actually quite easy. I won't get into it here, but I will say I did it all the time at school. I mean one of my teachers actually WANTED me to help find ways around it for him. Man I miss mass media...

alright... there was a recent thread about this exact issue. This is why, if you do a quick search on your topic before posting you would have seen that this discussion is prohibited.
