anyone kno what pci-e 2.0 x16 is?

looking at mobos w/pci express 2.0 x16 slots. Is this backwards compatible with vid cards that have a pci express x16 slots?

I want to oc on a cheaper board w/ a q6600 and a nice vid card. I also want a optical connection...on board sound. any recomendations?????

^^ That will tell you all you need to know about PCI-E, but I can tell you now that PCI-E 2.0 is fully backwards compatible with PCI-E.

alrighty, I wont cut out PCIe2.0 of my newegg power searches now. This should make life much easier looking for mobos now.
