I'm got a monitor from a friend that has had it sitting around as i need one for a old computer i'm giving away but the monitor wouldn't plug in and turns out it is a ega connection. Does anyone know if i can get an ega to vga adapter or if i would still be able to use this monitor?
thanks.

From the admittedly very brief research I just conducted, it would seem that the only adapters that existed for such technology were the opposite of what you need (EGA cards to VGA monitors). Even these adapters were quite expensive due to complex conversions in the signal type. I would say that it is more trouble than its worth. Some people simply throw away old CRT's. A few years back I would roam my town during spring cleanup and take the monitors people were throwing away, so they shouldn't be terrible hard to come by for a negligible cost.
