Anyone reason *not* to choose the 8800GTS(G92) over the 8800GT?

I had decided on the 8800GT a long time ago, but I now I discovered the 8800GTS(G92) which seems better in every way. But I want to make sure, is it really completely better? I know the earlier version of the 8800GTS was not, but is this one?

It is, by a small amount. I believe it's like 10% better, give or take. But generally it's about $100 more, which I and others find abit too much for the gain. It is on par with the ultra, while the GT is on par with the GTX, They're both good cards, but those with a budget will end up with a 8800gt or 38xx.

IIRC, after rebates it's only a $30 difference at Newegg right now.

The price drops, yeah, new development. When did you buy? A long time ago. It was a $100 difference back then, lol.

If you didn't have a budget and wanted the best of the best, you should've went with the GTS. No use regretting now though, the GTS would've fell to it's it's knees within weeks of the GT doing so. The difference in the long run is quite small.

The 512MB 8800GTS price has drop. Like the PNY brand u can get that for 270 after rebates. Compare that to a 8800GT is a good bargain.

I haven't bought anything yet, that's why I ask. :)
