hey has anyone tried an operating system called knoppix?? its linux-based and bootable so you dont have to install it. its a great way to get used to linux while still using your old operating system :)

Oh Ya, I have a knoppix bootable cd around her somewhere. But when I used it, it was alot of fun. Cource I didnt get the true power of linux cause it was slow(my cd drive is slow), I couldnt get internet(didnt want to f-up my perfect settings), and a bunch of other stuff. But one of these days Ill make the big switch to linux.

nothing beats the "BB" application under toys. its great. And i got the latest version of knoppix for $7 NZD lol not a big investment compared to "the great microsoft windows" *cough cough* (note sarcasim). lol

hmm does anyone know if its possible to use knoppix to connect to server running windows server 2003?? when i connect using windows i use the remote desktop connection but i cant figure out how to do it with knppix

i've tried it a few times, i could get online. But it was a pain to try and get anything working on it.

yeah ive been having problems with it for a while. Ah oh well you still cant go wrong for $1 NZD (latest discounted price of knoppix in New Zealand lol)

Try looking into Samba it might have come with knoppix. I used it in a lab in my computer class to connect SUSE Linux to 2003.

lol have you noticed that using knoppix on 2003 removed folder access restrictions?? for all you admins...it aint "illegal activities" just an observation
