Anyone use the eSata port?

Hi all!

Someone was asking me if I ever used the esata port... and now that I think of it I have not. An Esata port would include power to run a sata drive correct? (I am just thinking sata drives use sata power and the sata connector)

A friend of mine wants to plug in an external hard drive with an esata to his verizon fios box... I am not sure if he would need D/C power and a esata to sata cable... I am very confused :)

Any thoughts

Matt

The drive should already have power if it's an external HDD. The eSATA only provides a data connection.

I don't have experience using 2.5" eSATA drives. I use 3.5" desktop drives in Rosewell enclosures.
