anyone with in-depth knowledge of LCDs?

i'm just about finished school with graphic design. i've read that you still cannt compete with a CRT for color accuracy. but that if you got to have an LCD, Apple is the best for graphic design work.

i was lookin at the 23" or 30" model. i need a big display for workin on large format projects that'll be printed.

can anyone give me some reasoning as to why Apple makes such a good LCD? or if ya disagree tell me what i should be lookin at?

i'd really appreciate some professional help here, i know some of you may like a certain monitor just because it looks good, but i need to be a little more picky then that.

I think it really all depends on how much your willing to spend. Do you have a certain budget?

i'm willing to spend a fair amount. the apple 30" is $1700, i guess i'd be willing to go up to almost $3000. the monitor would have to justify that sort of price though
