Anyone with Vista + 8800GT help!

OK, so I've been getting this error and have been trying all manner of things over the last 2 weeks to fix it to no avail. I thought I might as well try to replicate someone elses system who doesn't have it.

Can anyone with Vista (preferably x64 / ultimate) and with an 8 series card please tell me the locations of their nvlddmkm.sys in their system32 folder and which folders they are in? I know, strange favor, but eh. Also, which drivers are you guys using?

Hopefully, this will get me somewhere. Till then, thanks!
 
I have a bunch of that file in the System32/DriverStore/FileRepository! The most recent one for me is 7.15.11.6928. I also have that file directly in system32 folder and thats an older version.

yeah, precisely what I meant. May I ask in which folders within the FileRepository folder? I'm pretty sure they are all nv_lh nv_etc etc
 
Correction! As you said all the folders begin with nv_ and there is about 15 folders like that for me!
 
wow, 15 folders?! hmm, guess I'll have to add them to every nv folder. Couple more questions, please :D

Is there also one in nv4, and you are able to pass the Windows Experience Index test without getting the nvlddmkm.sys error? 169.25 is the driver you are using, I suppose?
 
Actually i have an xfx 8600gt xxx zalman and i just installed the drivers it cam with and wow they are kinda old. It's version 162.18w. I dont have any errors with the Windows Index. Wow i was suprised at how much my score went up. I was at a 3.2 and it went up to a 5.3.
