I have to start by saying that i Love Vista but there are a lot of things that get on my nerves..Well anyways my main problem is my network. Right when i installed Vista my network worked great. i didn't have to set anything up, it just worked. So i have had vista for around 3 weeks now and every time i try to click on anything having to do with networking (except wireless) it either freezes up like this (#1) or like this (#2). On #1 it just stays on that screen and i have to close it threw task manager.. and #2 stays on that screen and i cant click on anything and i have to close it by ending its process. Anyone know whats wrong because i really want to set up a network between my two computer. I have managed to setup a little networking threw my XP comp. i can go on my XP comp and get files off my Vista comp. I can also print threw my XP to my Vista. But for some odd reason i can't get from my Vista to my XP or change any networking settting on my Vista comp.

I don't heavily use vista yet, but there should be a tool in there called the reliability utility ( try start run reliability) and it will monitor your system's whole reliability by date and chart it for you. You can look at the graph and see when your system started becoming more unreliable, you can then view the log of what was last done (software installed, changes made, errors from system logs, etc) and try to figure out what happened.

I hate the networking in vista and how it "automatically" broadcasts what you have. We have already had problems with the few systems running vista that will automatically share and broadcast your media files, which is dumb IMO.

It started the day i installed Vista and im looking at the reliability chart and i'm not seeing any major errors. Vista is pretty annoying when it comes to errors and crashes.

did you do a complete wipe and fresh install or an upgrade? I recommend you start with a clean fresh install if you didn't format during the install. Back up your data and start from there.

If you did do a wipe and clean load of the OS, you can try running chkdsk /r and other things that might try to fix any kind of software related problem you are having.
