aoe3: cpu or graphics power?

which is more important in the game?

i'm trying to figure out if an upgrade of motherboard, cpu, and ram would help me, although i'm not sure if it would be a waste or not..

game slows down when a lot of onscreen fighting is going on..

(pretty much for all games in general.. i have an x800xt pe (agp))
 
Your graphics card looks fine, what cpu do you have?

I think that AOE2 is more CPU intensive than other games.

athlon xp 2200+ on a 4x agp board.

1gb of ram which is at best 2100, however i don't know what the other stick is.

the other stick will either be pc2100 or worse.
 
it's your cpu i'd think. probably because of all the ai involved in the on-screen battles.

might i add this game looks amazing! the water is drool-worthy: best water graphics ive ever seen!
