AOL Always Reconnecting

Hi I'm new here.

I have a Gateway EV700. Its 4 Years Old. When I log into AOL 9.0 or any version, I can stay on for approximately an hour, or less then it automatically reconnects. It works the first time, then it reconnects after 5 minutes. I use a 56k modem. I have no idea what is wrong, is it my computer or is it AOL ? Thanks

Not sure but a lot of 56K services have some form of "idle"-disconnect as well as a "timebomb". The first one refers to the system whereby if you're not actively surfing after a certain amount of time, you get disconnected. The second refers to a scheduled disconnection (say every 2 hours)... this is more common with free 56K but it might be a possibility with AOL too.
