i'm at school, in the dorms, and...

for some reason, i cannot go on aim. i am able to go online and such, but for some reason, aim will not connect (although when i go on aim express, it works). it's sort of weird because i thought this was just a problem i had, but it turns out everyone here (or at least in the dorms) can't go on aim either. we can all go online, but aim just won't work. any ideas? :confused:
 
probably because they have that port blocked. When you open aim at the screen where you type your name and password, click setup. Then click connection. Then click auto configure and it will scan for open ports. Should solve your problem, let me know.
 
having this problem again.....but this time, it's worse. it won't even connect at all. internet works fine.
 
i tried doing what he said. it said the network or w/e needs to do something about it. i guess then it's the school's problem and i cant really do anything about it?

hah, you're right. apparently, people have been using AIM for file-sharing, so the school blocked the port for AIM....who knew!
