AOL problems

Alright, my neighbors use AOL and I've worked on their pc before. She comes to my house today and explains she's having problems. She says it takes a long time for her to connect to the internet and says it took her half an hour to load one site. She checks her AOL mail and it allows her to delete them from her inbox, but if she wants to read one, she let it load for 45 minutes and came back to just an hourglass. She also told me that previously if she picked up the phone and her daughter was online, she would get the different sounds (varying 56k noises), however now she gets the noise, but it is only 1 tone, like one continuous beep.

When i go down there, shoudl I just re-install aol, or what shoudl I look for first. She also said, she tried running their anti-virus, and it took quite some time to even start. Spyware maybe?

I don't think Spywares can slow a computer that much....

And if she runs an antivirus, usually it comes with anti-spyware. Look at Hard-Drive memory, might be full...

I forget what AV she runs..Panda something. I believe its a free one. She says that the pc locks up when trying to run that, so I don't think its central to AOL, she seems to have some other problems as well.
