a good firewall ... or better yet ... have the user not install it

I am assuming that you are on a LAN and you want to prevent users from using the AOL virus. You can do it by configuring your firewall to block all outgoing traffic on ports 5190 to 5193. I did this on my network and it worked like a charm. For more info on ports and the applications that use them look here http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers
