 Thats $2,625 USD!!!!

If you know anything about PC's, you would know how easy it is to get compatible hardware for Windows. And for a Windows PC with the same specs as what you have in your Mac, you would have only payed about $700-$900.

Thanks, but I prefer OS X to Windows.

He also got the 20" LCD screen, built-in bluetooth....not to mention all crammed into a small space. I personally think the iMac is a fairly good deal.

Total for that in the PC World... $100.

Why are you such a fanboy of Mac, that you are willing to spend $1,500 more for the same hardware, just for a different OS?

I heard this saying once, " You can't shit in someone elses taste." Lol....but yet it is true. It comes down to personal preference...for example, I'm planning to buy a MacBook for $1249 CAD soon rather than buying a pc laptop just because I like the look and feel of the mac, plus better security, and Its easier for me to do media editing.

Thats much more reasonable the the computer he has. And it's also much harder for him to upgrade his desktop, both because of the way its put together, and the limited parts that supports Mac's.

I'm not going to upgrade parts again, I got this so that I don't get in the hassle of upgrading parts like in a PC, and also like 'P11' said, the look and feel of Mac is better.

Thats complete bull, the "security" on a mac is exactly the same if not less than that on a PC... but with windows being so widely used and industry stadard more attacks are directed towards us and not macs, so you do not feel the brunt of it. Just wait, there will be a time when virus authors turn to macs and when that day comes you'll all be screwed because your not ready for it, youve gone all this time without a care in the world under the false pretense that "Mac's dont get viruses", you'll see....

... hassle?? its not hassle, its fun to do and its far FAR cheaper to shove a new graphics card in, what happens 2 years down the line when your mac graphics cant cut it with the game you wanna play, your either gonna have to upgrade your ENTIRE system to a better model or your gonna have to search for days on end to find a compatible and ocnsiderably more expensive gfx card suitable for your mac....

And the repeated point about the "look and feel" of a mac being better is complete opinion and cant stand up in a debate such as this

Excellent post Dave, I feel the same way.

If you find it a hassle to upgrade a PC, then why do you do it? It's not like you have to upgrade a PC, it just makes it much easier and cheaper then buying a new computer.

And as dragon said before, what happens in a year or two when you want to play some new games? Your video card wont be able to handle it, so are you going to buy a new $2,500 Mac, or upgrade the video card for $300?

Linux is the best! You can stick linux on everything. Macs, Pcs, xbox, gamecube, psp, DS, gameboy, dreamcast, my digital camera, iPod, and the list goes on. Cant say that about xp or mac can yea? :P

To be precise PCs are all bulky and occupy a lot of space, Macs are small and sleek and have a better OS

They also have ultra small PC's. Have you seen the one from dell that you can fold up and it's almost just like a laptop? And HP makes some mini PC's which are less then a foot tall, and only a few inches wide.

That's also a good point. I really feel that Macs are great for certain things, but, the PC is a lot more 'flexible'. Like said above, it is upgradable, so you don't need to buy a new computer every time you want an upgrade in some hardware.
