Does anyone know when the MacBook Pro's are coming out with the core 2 duo chips? I've read that they should be out by now. Are they in stores or something, cause they are not available online.

Well if apple's site doesn't have them, then I would assume that they aren't out.

C2D really isn't much of an improvement over Core Duo in laptops.

They will be released soon.

Leopard is going to be released next spring and it will be a full on 64bit OS, so their hardware should catch up. The Core Duo is 32 bit, and the Core 2 Duo is 64bit so I can only assume that they will probably roll out full on 64bit machines probably around the new year (if not sooner) in anticipation for the release of Leopard OS

I have a pro. with just the 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo and it's really fast still, with a 1.5 gigs, and 7200rpm hdd I think im good for a while :)

The one thing that I don't want though is old technology for like $2500. That's what I'm worried about. I think I'll wait till the c2d's come out with leopard.
