Apple or Windows-based Laptop

A couple of the Acer ones, that eMachines or even going Voodoo (i sold an A51m a couple months back so i could get a new laptop... still deciding heehee),

Yeah A51 has some good pc's and notebooks. I was giving that some consideration and totally forgot all about it. Going to have to check back into those. Voodoo has some nice laptops. Never knew they were making them. A little costly but very nice.

Costly is the key word but on the flipside they dont depreciate so fast either (even compared to laptops). The only reason i ever got the A51m was because i needed to do video encoding on the run ... now that i dont really move around so much i dunno if i will go that route.

apple apple apple! ok they're a bit expensive, and not that widely used. but look at the flip side. you can do everything you really need to do on a laptop with an ibook and LOADS more....and it *works* !! i've tried sony and dell. after about a year they become so slow even after defragging- and they're just too difficult. get apple, you won't go wrong.

We actually got an HP that has been giving us excellent performance. it's one of the zt3000 laptops. 512 MB of RAM and 1.5 MHz Centrino. Nice wide screen. Now just have to get to work on building the new desktop.

after about a year, even with top-notch maintenance, i'd wipe the entire system and re-install the OS. That will get it back to running 100% "new" speed as long as the actual hardware is still good.
