I need some help on whether I should make this purchase. Hoping for you guys to give me some incite.

A guy in my major wants to sell me his Apple PowerMac G5 Dual 2GHz 2GB 160GB DVD-RW WiFi OSX5 for $200.

Is this a good deal or should I not even bother? I would be buying it to use Final Cut Pro and do my video editing. Would this even be enough power to run FCP efficiently?
 
thats a good deal for a powermac. However, Go Intel mac if you want a mac. It will be supported for longer, and PPC is already out of service already. 10.5 I think is the latest, and last OS to support PPC.
 
I wouldn't buy a PowerPC-based Mac, 10.5 is the latest OS you can run and most new apps are designed for Intel only, and won't run on a PPC system.
