hello,

im gunna be buying a computer with an A8-5500 and installing a galaxy GT 640 in it

I know that the dedicated GPU will disable the integrated GPU but will the processor still (accelerate)?

also im not to clear as to what accelerate actually means is that when it goes from 3.2 GHz to 3.7 GHz or is the IGPU memory just used as like an extra cache?

thank you

yes, the 640 will disable the apu's igpu/ the igpu has no memmory on it. it uses the system memory, which is why going with ram faster than 1600mhx is benificial. and yes, the cpu will still Accelerate or use its turbo boost type tech when the igpu is disabled

If you haven't bought it yet, then the AMD cards at the same price tend to be a lot better for gaming. And where are you buying the computer and for how much? (links are nice)

no johny...hybrid crossfore ends with the 6670, but with the higher end apu's....for example, i have a a6 5400k, which can be crossfored with a 6570 tops. the a8 and 10 can be crossfored with up to the 6670.

sorry for delayed response
ive been spending the past few days gettn windows 7 to install and finding drivers. blast manufacturers for making computers hard to change anything these days lol
