Will an Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 fit OK on an ASUS Z68 board which has all 4 RAM bays populated with full-height 4GB G.Skill RipJaws-X DIMMs? I want to make sure the G.Skills RAM will fit underneath the cooler before I buy anything. If somebody could answer that would be great thanks! Cooler RAM

Sorry - I meant to post this in the COOLING section... can a mod please move this? thanks.

I do not have any experience in this cooler, but by looking at the picture, I believe you can adjust the height of the fan so it clears the RAM. This wouldn't have much effect on your cooling performance.

Pretty much any tall air cooler will not be able to clear ripjaws, but again, you can adjust the fan height.

Thank you for the response. Looked on the internet at some photos and read some reviews, looks to me like it'll be OK... hopefully I'll be able to push the fan up a bit. Are there any coolers you'd recommend that may not be as big? How about the Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2? Will I be able to overclock a 2500K to 4.0GHz and beyond using a 7 Pro?

I only have experience with the CM 212+. It is huge, though. It does not clear the RAM, but it can easily be moved up. I installed one on my friend's i5 2500k and he got temps of 25-30c idle using the stock paste that comes with it. At 4ghz and stressed, it gets to around 50c. That's with the room temp around 20c. I bet you could get better temps using a better paste, a different application method, (I used the dot in the middle, but that is more for AMD chips) and maybe some better fans on it.

I'll go with the Freezer 13 knowing that it may/may not fit, if it doesn't I can return it to Novatech hopefully and just use the stock cooler the 2500K comes with until I can buy something which will fit and clear all the RAM. Definitely not going to overclock on the stock cooler.
