are cheap neons dangerous for my rig?

I bought a second 1 foot long neon for $20 and plugged it into the extra plug the first neon had.

I started hiding the wires and i heard a short circuit and then my who rig shut down and scared the crap out of me, i started swearing and yelling until the power button finally worked again and turned it back on.



Should I be worried about another short? does it harm the pc when this happens?

Shorting a circuit is never good mate, but how do you know it was the second neon?

I would take you computer to pieces and have a look for any bare wires or anything that could potentially cause a short, then take it from there.
