are rubber grommets necessary???

okay im about to install a new hard drive and darn....lost all the rubber grommets...
is it really necessary??? will it damage my hard drive if i don't screw with it??

No, it wont damage it if you do not install the drive with them, all they do, is stop the vibrations on the case for quieter operation.
