are there any 2 player split screen games for pc?

and if so how do you play them? do you need 2 game pads and are there any good 2 player pc games?
 
I've never seen a 2+ player game for PC where its a split screen, they have some where you take turns, but i dont think any splitscreen games. Its too bad, it would be pretty fun

yeah pc needs to start making some 2 player games us nerds and geeks. maybe thats why nerds and geeks have no friends beecause they have no games that they can play with friends (except mmorpgs which is still kind of lonely)!
 
The first colin Mcrae game, Toca race driver, and some earlier nfs games have split screen 2 player modes, but they are both very very old, and dont work on XP

toca race driver used to work on my system until i installed service pack 2. dunno if that affects you but it seemed like a reasonable comment to add

Its not very hard to get them working on XP. The micro machines games werent split screen, but you could could still have 2 people playing on one screen at the same time.
 
There are games, try sonic, a few of them, Sonic R is the only good split one of the sonic at least, ther is also Jazz Jackrabit 1&2
