Are these items compatible with a x64 system?

Are you referring to a 64bit OS like XP/Vista or Linux 64biit or simply a different hardware platform? For any OS those will work just like any other makes and models. For a sata drive of couse Vista now sees more support for seeing Windows go on without a driver floppy needed.
 
Vista now comes on a dvd being a larger version of Windows. If you lack a cd/dvd rom type combo or dvd burner that would be first choice rather then a cd writer. Other then that the make and model for either type of drive wouldn't matter as far as simply being a 64bit edition of Wiondows.
