hi,

any opinions on this mobo? i'm thinking about getting this one so i can hook up my Zalman CNPS7700-Cu Quiet Copper CPU Cooler. i have a MSI MS-7071 mobo at the moment with a Arctic-Cooling Freezer 7 PRO all in my new case, Antec P180. but the noise is coming from the CPU fan. so i got the new cooler but theres no room for the ram anymore. so i'm thinking about buying this new mobo so i can install the zalman cooler and still be able install the memory. i'm trying to go for a pretty silent PC. i just have one little concern.... will the motherboard work with my P4 3.0? i believe the model number is 630. socket 775. but i'm pretty sure it will.
seems like a good motherboard since it comes with an AGP and PCI-E slot. i don't play very many video games anymore so i don't really care about that, i just need a wider mobo. and its only 80 dollars from this local computer store i always visit.
what you do think? good idea? or not so much? let me know!

really? how so? its still a bit loud for my taste. spinning at 2800 RPM. its at about 27 dba. i want silence!!! but we'll see once i set it up.

hmm the CNPS9500 is only 10 dollars more. maybe i'll buy that one. i just want a silent computer. the CPU is the only thing thats stopping me from having a quiet PC.

EDIT:

i just got the email back from zalman.com

"Good morning!
Thank you for your interest in our products.

Yes, CNPS7700-Cu is compatible with Asrock 775Dual-880Pro.
But you need a space of 5mm or more between your M/B and the end of power supply.
And we think CNPS7700-Cu is the best choice, performance/price wise.

Best regards,

Support / Zalman"

this is wicked news! i'll pick up the mobo perhaps tomorrow. and my PSU is at the very bottom of the case so i'm good to go!

we'll see how it turns out though. i'll snap some pictures too.
