Hi Everybody.

I have a New Motherboard Asrock K8Upgrade-VM800, and i have bought a 512 and 256 stick of ram ddr400 but the bios only says it is ddr333,
i have updated the bios but still no good, any ideas?
Mnay THanks

Its probably because it limits it to DDR333 if you have 2 double sided sticks inside, thats what happens with alot of boards. Try using only the 512MB and see if it goes to DDR400.

if you're running a particular model of sempron (i cant remember which speed) you will be limited to PC2700 (333MHz). that said there should still be options in the bios that will let you change the speed of the memory

I've tried a single sided 256 stick on its own and it ran at ddr333, i've tried 512 double sided and that ran a ddr333. the motherbard states it runs ddr400.

right, ive just gone to the asrock website and found the manual in PDF format.
if you go into the bios and go to the advanced settings there should be a section called cpu configuration.
in there you'll find an option called memory clock, you should be able to set it to 200 MHz (DDR400) to get you memory running at the speed you want.

here is the link to the PDF http://www.asrock.com/Drivers/Manual/K8Upgrade-VM800_UM.pdf
