Assassins Creed II on PC

Is anyone buying this game? I just read that the DRM requires you to be logged on at all times, connected to Ubisofts servers. What dumb****s are choosing this DRM?! I will probably not ever buy this game. Chances are I'll get it pirated. Ubisoft should either get that DRM or suffer not 1 person buying it, just it being pirated!

it is a newer way for them to try and prevent the pirating (might want to be a bit more careful of what you say openly ). it is upsetting a lot of people but it is, so far working as far as preventing the cracking. i don't think anyone has successfully cracked it yet.

If they don't remove the DRM from AC2 or use it in newer games, Ubisoft can rot for all i care.

Well I understand why they want to stop the pirating. But that is freakin over the top. People like me, or just people with a shitty connection, they could never get anywhere.

they did say in an interview that they could (if needed) eventually release a patch that would allow for offline single player gaming with ac2. they might as well do it right now... this seems to have failed for the most part.

IF they do that, I'll probably buy the game, since I don't MP anyway.

I was going to buy it on release but that DRM is a deal breaker. Shame so many IDIOTS went out and bought it on PC. Then they blame "hackers" for the authentication servers being down which I highly doubt its just a good excuse.

On the plus side some Russians found a way to unlock all but the last 2 lvls without needing a constant connection so good to hear its bypassed. Maybe it will stop them from using it more.

The game is already cracked but that's as far as i'm going on this topic. Either way it's better to buy it without trying to get a pirate copy.

It's a shame that legitimate customers must go through such a large amount of shit in terms of DRM, pirates don't have to deal with any of it

That's true but think about when people download those games illegally. They can download it with a virus that can mess up their whole pc. So really it's better to buy it instead of trying to download a pirate copy.

^ Good thinking. But I really don't want to give them my money while it has that DRM, so i highly doubt I will buy it.

you guys are overreacting, you basically are taking one small minor isue (internet required) and turning it into a reason not to buy it.
i bought the game for the PC last week after i didnt want to get it for the 360 so i could have better performance. anyway turned out the CD i had was broken and apparently a whole batch of CD's they sent out had the same problem. i took it back to the shop and they gave me a new copy that worked perfectly. the game laggs on my crappy pc and the sounds out of sync, but thats because i like to run it at high quality.

dont bother pirating it, support Ubisoft and buy the game like most people. so in the next AC they can put it right. to be honest i hope that anyone who does download a pirated copy downloads one with a virus.

If you think by buying this that it will make ubisoft do the right thing, you are sadly mistaken. They've incorporated this DRM into 3 games so far, and attributed the low sales of all 3 to pirating

They hyped this DRM, and guess what? It was cracked before they even released AC2. This means someone didn't like it, within ubisoft. It's a stupid mistake from the highest level.

And many people like me, do not have a permanent internet connection. (well I'm getting one soon.) Which raises another point, what if you want to play the game on the move? like in a bus/car/airplane trip? You're screwed, by ubisoft.

i agree that they should not have made it so you need a permanent internet connection, but i dont agree that people should pirate games just because they dont agree with what the company has done to stop people getting it for free.

DRM is really stupid idea. It's good in some way but on the other way it's stupid. There are a lot of people who have problems with their internet and this will mess up the fun with the game. If you dont have internet for lets say 2 weeks is this mean you cant play the game for 2 weeks? that's stupid....

IMHO: I should buy it and get a crack, no issues.

Your only making them do it more though when you do that. It took a long time to bypass this method accurately.

If you must buy it go online and buy a 100% USED copy to screw their profits over.

you have been saying that for quite a while now
