Assassins creed only works on integrated video card

hi all,

i've got assassins creed (1) installed on my laptop with an integrated Intel HD 4000 graphic card and a Nvidia Geforce 610M 2Gb.
when i try to load the game, it 'lags' right at the intro-video and its stops responding. Since my pc should be able to run a game like this, i thought: maybe the game runs on the integrated video card. So i right-clicked on the AC icon and choose to run with the Nvidia card. And as i tried, i noticed that the game doesnt work on the Nvidia card, but i does on the HD 4000.

I play it at high setting now on my Intel HD 4000 and totally smoothly.

I just don't know how this is possible and why the game doesnt work on my Nvidia card.

I really hope someone can help me with this, because i'm planning to play more games on this pc and therefore i want my Nvidia card to work.

(Im working with a Windows 7 pc, i7-3610QM processor, 6GB RAM)

According to notebookcheck.net the HD4000 is actually stronger and that sounds right to me. It's pretty good really while the 610 is a very weak card, the only advantage it has is the 2gb of vram and it might be better at 3d modeling or something but it still wouldn't be good. I mean if it plays the game fine on the HD4000 then what does it matter? you should be able to play any game on one of the 2, just don't hold your breath for great settings on Skyrim or BF3...

ok thanks!
i do find i kinda odd then, that it has both cards..
I knew the nvidia was not that good, but i thought, i would be able to play games with the nvidia and do normal stuff with the intel. but okay..
thanks for your response
